An unforgettable day
Boarding in the morning in Boyrdville on Oleron island. Your day will start with a cup of good coffee served while passing by Fort Boyard and heading to Aix Island. The crossing usually takes 1 hour and is commented by the skippers.
Ile ou Aile will pick you up at the end of the day and will make you feel the magic of sailing up to the Boyardville channel.
Once immerged in a marine environment, you feel totally disconnected from the rest of the world.
AIX : a unique island
The cars are not allowed here and the goods, once arrived by boat, are transported in a small trailers fixed to bicycles. You will be emerged into the atmosphere of a completely different world without noise nor air pollution fully enjoying the nature.
The walking tour around the island takes approximately 2h-2h30. You can also rent a bike to reach the paradise beaches or take a horse-carriage ride. You will also discover unique places for discovering local cuisine and oyster degustation.
Aix island is full of history. It was the place where Napoleon spent his last days before he was sent to exile. Fort Liedot situated in the forest was transformed into a temporary prison during the war in Algeria.
The best way to dock
Unlike the passenger boats, Ile ou Aile doesn’t depend on tides on Aix Island. We drop you off in the morning and the island is at your disposal! Organize your day in a way that you prefer.
You will be provided with schedules and pick-up points during the reservation at our ticket office in Boyardville or by telephone.
